February is American Heart Month take time to be "heart healthy"!

Klem Road South is an elementary school that serves students in grades K-5. The school opened in 1971 as a result of expansion in Webster. To accommodate more growth, a wing was added in 1993.

At Klem South we work toward delivering an academically rigorous program in a nurturing environment. The K-5 instructional program is based on the New York State Standards and Benchmarks. Teachers refer to the Standards as they plan their instruction in all academic areas. Children who are at risk of not meeting the Standards are eligible for Academic Intervention Services. Webster Schools have recently put energy and personnel into giving children more support in reading and writing at the kindergarten through second grade levels to ensure school success.

Students in grades 1-5 participate in physical education, art, general music, and library classes. They can choose to participate in band, orchestra, and chorus beginning in 4th grade. Additionally, options for art club, computer art club, and intramural sports during the school day begin in 5th grade. We will be offering an after school program in areas of student interest both in the fall and in the winter.

The Klem South PTSA is very active and provides many services to the students and families at our school. There are numerous opportunities for parents to volunteer their time, energy, and expertise.
